What to Check When Some of Your Electrical Components Fail

Electrical components such as your interior or dash lights operate on your interior electrical system. The power is directed to these auxiliary systems through the "on" or "acc" position in your ignition switch or ignition lock systems. From the ignition switch, power courses through wires and fuse to power the lights in these systems.

When these auxiliary systems fail to operate when your car is running, check your fuse box first. Change out any burned fuses to see if this is the issue. If you still experience the symptoms, then the issue is either a wiring problem or a failing ignition switch. A trained mechanic can diagnose the issue quickly with the tools they have on hand.

At Patterson Honda in Wichita Falls, our auto service technicians and mechanics are certified to work on electrical systems. They quickly diagnose and correct troubling electrical issues.
