Choosing Your Oil: Synthetic Vs. Conventional

Is it time for another oil change? If it is, then you might be interested to know that there is more than one kind of oil that you can choose from, depending on the age and model of your vehicle. Both conventional and synthetic oils are often used in a range of vehicles, but do you know the differences between these two types of oils?

Conventional oil is based mostly on natural oils with synthetics added. Synthetic oil is completely without any natural oils. What is interesting is that the synthetic actually lubricates better. But that doesn't mean that conventional oil won't work for some vehicles, especially if they are newer and have less mileage. Plus, conventional oil is more cost-effective, but people switch to synthetic as their car gains miles.

If you're interested in learning more about the difference between the two, or if it's time for your oil change, stop over at our Patterson Honda showroom and we'll be happy to service your vehicle.
